Our advocates worked with RI Legislators, House and Senate, to generate and pass CLJA resolutions advocated scaled up urgency by the Congress and government.
Additionally, we advocate for legislation to get prompt justice, settlements, and peace for the 408,000 claimants, their families, and estates of those who have already passed, who are largely ignored by the government they trusted and served.
The contaminants included: Trichloroethylene (TCE), which was commonly used as an industrial solvent Perchloroethylene, also known as Perc Vinyl chloride
Veterans seeking medical coverage and disability compensation were routinely denied by the VA.
Currently, there are 408,000 pending claims with the Department of the Navy. Despite the overwhelming number of claims received, not a single case has gone to trial while the Department of Justice litigates against victims.
Enacted in 2022 as part of the PACT Act, the Camp Lejeune Justice Act allows veterans and civilians to file tort claims against the U.S. government for damages related to harm caused by exposure to contaminated water at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina between August 1, 1953, and December 31, 1987.
